Apple is giving people a new reason to upgrade to its subscription news service, Apple News+. On Thursday, the company announced the addition of the Emoji Game. This original game will join its other titles, including Crossword, Crossword Mini, Sudoku, and the word game Quartiles, available in both the U.S. and Canada in English.

Combining games with other services has shown to be an effective way to draw in users and keep them interested, as The New York Times and LinkedIn have found. Apple has not disclosed its user numbers for Games, but it claims that many people subscribe to News+ mainly for the puzzles.  Subscribers of this game are increasing day by day due to newly introduced Puzzle Game.

Released to coincide with World Emoji Day, the new Emoji Game combines logic and wordplay. It draws inspiration from how we use emojis to communicate. In this daily game, players must solve phrases using emojis. The goal is to complete the puzzle in the fewest moves possible.

How Emoji Puzzle Game Really Work:

For example, if the word “appear” is in the puzzle, you might see the letters “ap” followed by four blank spaces. Then, you would drag the emoji for the pear into the blanks to complete the word. The phrases in the Emoji Game will be a bit harder to guess. Additionally, the emoji you need to solve the puzzle may often be part of emoji combinations or require some abstract thinking to figure out. The word representing the emoji can also fill in blank spaces that have other letters in between.

If you get stuck, you can reveal a clue below the phrase, but this will cost you one of your moves.

There are multiple phrases to solve each day to complete the full puzzle. Finishing in six moves is a perfect score. Leaderboards help you track your streaks and see how your scores compare to those of friends and other users. In the upcoming iOS 26, you will be able to challenge friends to play with you using the new Games app.

So basically this emoji puzzzle game which is introduced by Apple+ featuring genmoji is something which can make you engage in it. It’s tricky and will be most loved by those who love puzzle solving games .

Use Of Genmoji:

To make the game more tailored to Apple, it uses the recently introduced Genmoji. These are custom emojis created with Apple Intelligence, the company’s AI. This gives you access to more emojis than the fewer than 2,000 that come with your emoji keyboard. For example, you might see a Genmoji of a blender and an emoji of a tomato to create the word “purée.”

Developed By:

The game is developed with help from a third-party, The Puzzle Society, which is now called GoComics. Apple puzzle editors are handling the editing. It’s currently available for Apple News+ subscribers in the U.S. and Canada on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Users on iOS 18.4 and newer won’t need to update their app to access the game, but those with older versions will.

The News+ subscription also includes access to over 400 premium publishers, narrated audio, local news, sports, and a new feature for saving recipes, called Apple News+ Food.
